Countdown Has Begun
3.. 2.. 1.. Pack! Clean! Move! Vacation! The busiest two weeks of this year are about to begin.
This is it, the two weeks we have been working towards for the last one-and-a-half months. In 5 days time, my parents and grandparents will be here to visit. Before that, I have four days of full-time work and five evenings of which 3 are booked. In my free time before the family arrives, I must pack for the move, clean the house, and do the grocery shopping.
Tim’s doing his share as well. He’s driving all around the area trying to find the remaining things we need to hang curtains in the new apartment, picking up my clothes from the dry cleaner, picking up the rug we bought for the livingroom and doing all kinds of other handy things I can think of. Thank goodness he’s got vacation time off from work this week!
Once the family arrives, the cogs will have started turning irreversibly. We’ll tour Amsterdam and Leiden, then head to Germany to tour around a couple days. Then Tim and I will take two days to arrange all kinds of administrative things in the new city where we will live before we head back home to pack like crazy for two days, in preparation for the move on Sept. 26. In between all of that, we are doing things like picking up the key to the new apartment and selling our refrigerator and other useless furniture.
It’s going to be a fun-filled two weeks! Updates to follow ;)

Sounds like a blast! I’ve moved every year since we graduated from high school (8x!), and each time, I say “I’m not doing this again.”
