About the small things in life that seem oh so big

Little Ironies

Posted in Short & Sweet by Cheryl on 23 October 2005

I had a big day this week. Big as in, important. Super-important! Really, really, really super-important! Usually, for such a day, I have to fight months and months through layers of bureaucracy and paperwork and telephone calls on hold. This time, I only had to wave my pinky finger and the day arrived. Somehow, having had to work much less hard for this day, it seems so much less important.

So, you ask, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! Well, on Friday I picked up my residence permit for Aschaffenburg, Germany, allowing me to live and work here until 2010!!! And that, ladies and gentlemen, is worth a celebration. Even if I didn’t have to work for it :)
