Drama in the Bedroom
Though our life seems to be fairly normal, Tim and I did have one element of drama in this weekend: Tim had hung the light in the bedroom, a broad glass ceiling light, and I was evaluating how it looked (of course :). I said, it’s not good, this side is not completely up against the ceiling, and you can see it’s hanging a bit crooked. Tim said, oh, it’s good enough, no one will ever notice. And I said, no, you’ve got to re-do it, this is really silly-looking, it’s definitely hanging down on one side. Tim had a look at said, no, it’s fine.
And then, in one dramatic sweep, the light fell from the ceiling! and while I was standing there screaming, waiting for the sound of shattering glass against the floor… I heard nothing! And I looked up (in what had become a dark room) and could just make out the outline of the big lamp hanging on one wire from the ceiling. So I, of course, continued to scream.
Tim said, Cheryl! Turn on the other light. So I continued to scream and turned on a different light. And then Tim managed to grab the lamp before it completely fell to the ground, preventing the dreadful sound of shattering glass I had expected for the last 5 seconds. Phew! Talk about drama.
I’ve been reminding Tim the whole weekend that I *am* right 10% of the time…

Good job Cheryl. They do need to be reminded every once in awhile. Glad your light didn’t shatter. Ours did, and all he did was pull the cord. I’ll tell you that is NOT fun to clean up.

Lamps are supposed to be attached to the ceiling with only one screw, and hang down on one side.
Don’t they teach you girls anything?
