Cake & Tradition
Tim and I have started talking about the wedding cake we want. It turns out we have slightly different tastes. Cakes I liked got comments from Tim like, “I don’t want to have to stick my head in a rain forest to eat my cake!” and “There isn’t enough water in Jackson Center to keep that cake alive!” We were both equally confused by the American tradition of having separate cake islands and connecting them with seemingly pointless little bridges in the air.
At one point, Tim found a picture of two people feeding each other wedding cake. I said to him, “You know what the tradition is during the reception with the cake, right?” He looked at the picture and answered, “Well I’m not going to give you my cake, that’s for sure!”
