American Football Weekend
Since Wednesday Tim and I are able to watch all kinds of American sports through our cable subscription here in Germany, all on a channel called NASN (North American Sports Network). Just being able to see the US football games live with the original American commentary from my very own livingroom is practically earth-moving - I’ve really missed that.
So last night I took the opportunity to watch the Alabama-Arkansas game live. What a game, went into overtime and everything. If the poor kicker for Alabama could’ve just kicked the ball between the poles 1 of the 5 times that he missed, Alabama would have won. But 5 tries was all he got and eventually Arkansas managed to get a field goal opportunity in overtime and their kicker put the ball through the first chance he got. Win for Arkansas.
The big news in my hometown area is of course Ohio State, which is ranked #1 in the nation right now. Their score kept flashing on the screen throughout the Alabama game I was watching and at the half it was Penn St 3, Ohio State 0. But OSU kept up their winning streak - make sure to check out these video highlights from ESPN which are pretty good.

We watched the game with the Seattle OSU Alumni Club– I am not really that into football, but I found myself cheering during the last quarter!
