About the small things in life that seem oh so big

We will have a house.. we won’t. We will…

Posted in Storytelling by Cheryl on 20 November 2006

Give me the daisy and I’m ready to go, petal by petal: we will have a house. We won’t. We will have a house. We won’t.

PreviewI may not have mentioned it on this blog yet, but Tim and I made an offer on a house 3 weeks ago. “House” is a term I use loosely: it’s a relatively modern flat that occupies the one-above-ground-level floor in a building with 4 floors, where the ground level is a business. Unfortunately, due to the particular situation of the people from which we are buying we are faced with some unusual delays and, to date, haven’t gotten to sign anything official. Which is nerve-wracking considering we’ve already told the building owner of our current apartment that we’ll be out by Feb. 1.

We decided when we made the offer that is would be really special to be moved into the new house before the New Year, but considering the rate at which we’re going we’ll be lucky to have the key by then! But it still could happen, we’re not giving up hope. Say a prayer if you think of it ;) After we get the key it will take 4-8 weeks before we have a kitchen in it (there’s no kitchen in at the moment) so we will probably be looking at lots of microwave meals in the New Year.

Of course, we’re super excited about it (just slightly nervous until it all goes through). Once it all goes through it will be a whirlwind here!

Wow didn’t realize the previous owners were such a bunch of ***holes. Btw. wouldn’t the appropriate term be a condo? :)
