My wife and I are fellow Aschaffenburg-ians - or is it Aschaffenburg-ers? We moved here in April of last year and as an American I can totally relate to most of your experiences. I've also experienced the bewilderment of apartments without kitchens, lights, bathroom mirrors, blinds, or even closets! (Who knew the Germans lagged so far behind America in closet technology?!) My wife is German so all of this seems normal to her. But I do have to say, the kitchen thing threw her as well. I've often considered starting my own ex-pat blog, but it probably wouldn't be good for my blood pressure. (Germany gets me worked up sometimes.) Anyway, keep up the good work.
