About the small things in life that seem oh so big

Bad news Sandman

Posted in Short & Sweet by Cheryl on 28 May 2007

Tonight Tim went with some friends to see Spiderman 3 OV (Original Version = no German voiceovers) in the cinema. I refused to go, trusting my female instinct that the film would not be worth seeing. Not to mention that I don’t much like the actor that plays Spiderman and I don’t consider the films to fall into the stereotypical action-movie class that generally does appeal to me.

If Tim and friends are to be believed, it seems my intuition was right and I can happily go and spend my nine Euro fifty better elsewhere. It seems that the main actor cried (I mean, really cried) multiple times in the movie; the plot when it came to the Sandman was not remotely credible (but then again, it’s Spiderman we’re talking about here, so is that a valid criticism?); most of the budget went into effects for the not-so-credible Sandman; and the movie in general was pretty random.

Any other suckers - I mean, folks - out there who saw this movie?

ok ok i confes i did see it to and i dint like it to. the only good part was the sandman story in it but the rest could easely be left out. (spesialy the part of spiderman passing the screen filling amarican flag in slow motion)

i saw it. the special effects were awesome. the director/producers pretty much hopscotched all over the original storylines (i grew up reading the comic.) spidey didn’t get the new suit until the “Secret Wars” plotline, but whatever. the acting was bad to very bad. Kirsten Dunst is still a hotty. overall, i’d wait for the torrent. not worth renting.

also, i don’t think a bunch of missiles could have taken down the sandman, that was bunk. at least they kept his character motivation close to the original. and yeah, that amerika propaganda was seriously much, unless you want it interpreted that we’re all living in fantasyland, after all, we’ve got a leader who speaks to god, err, God.

How is Pirates 3? i heard it was a bit over the top (not that it matters becoase the film supposed to be like that i think) does it have a satisfying ending this time? or can we expect a part 4? (i kinda hope so)

Pirates 3 is awesome. It kinda does have a satisfying ending, make sure you stay until after the credits though too. However, there is talk that there could be 2 more, the end of the film doesn’t leave too much to suggest it, but it’s possible.

And i thought Spidey was okay, all the Sandman stuff was lame in my opinion, i much prefered the Venom and dark Spidey moments, but most of all thought the Harry stuff was pretty cool. It’s not a bad film at all, certainly watchable, but it is only worth a 7/10 at max.

Yup, we saw it– it wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t out of this world either. I feel the same way about the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and K is dragging me to see the 3rd one soon.
